Changes in Endogenus Puyrescine and the Rrlationship to the Ripening of Tomato Fruits

Abstract
In an effort to clarify the effects of putrescine on the ripening fruits using natural. and ripening inhibitor (ren) tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill), changes in electrolyte and amino acid leakages, carbon dioxide production, and ethylene evolution were analyzed from pericarp tissues after application of putrescine exogenously. And also endogenous content of putrescine was quantified during ripening of tomato fruits. Putrescine was predominant polyamine in tomato fruits. Application of the polyamine stimulated ethylene evolution in both tomato cultivars. Anti-senescence activity of putrescine can be attributed to their ability to stabilize and protect membrane.
